Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, 2 that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". 3 We know all what the earth decreases from them; and with Us is a Book that retains. 4 Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. 5 So did they not see the sky above them – how We have made it and beautified it, and there are no cracks in it? 6 And the earth -- We stretched it forth, and cast on it firm mountains, and We caused to grow therein of every joyous kind 7 To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). 8 And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops, 9 And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile 10 as sustenance apportioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man's] coming-forth from death. 11 In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), 12 The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut, 13 and the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba': every one denied their messengers, and so My warning came true. 14 Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. 15
