Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
