The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
