Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 The Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 and a shade of thick, pitch-black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?- 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 And shall fill therewith your bellies. 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We created you, why will you not believe! 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers of growth? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
