Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Not at all but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 noble, recording, 11 who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
