Say thou: who guardeth you by night and by day from the Compassionate? Yet from the remembrance of their Lord they avert themselves! 42 Can their gods protect them against Us? Their gods have no power even to help themselves, nor are they safe from Our retribution. 43 Yet We bestowed the good things [of life] upon their fathers for a great length of time. But do they not see how We are shrinking their borders? Is it they who will prevail? 44 Say, "I do but warn you according to revelation": But the deaf will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned! 45 If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!" 46 But We shall set up just balance-scales on Resurrection Day, and no human being shall be wronged in the least: for though there be [in him but] the weight of a mustard-seed [of good or evil,] We shall bring it forth; and none can take count as We do! 47 And certainly We gave to Musa and Haroun the Furqan and a light and a reminder for those who would guard (against evil). 48 Those who fear their Lord without seeing Him, while they are afraid of the Hour. 49 And this is a blessed Message which We have sent down: will ye then reject it? 50
