The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
