Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
