The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
