The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sun and its midmorning, 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it 7 And inspired it with the wickedness thereof and the piety thereof, 8 He who purifies it will indeed be successful, 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. 14 He does not fear the consequence. 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
