Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

YOU ARE OBSESSED by greed for more and more 1 until you come to the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
