The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 Scorching the skin. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
