Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
