The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
