۞ It was He who created you from a single soul, and from it made its mate so that he may find comfort in her. Once he has covered her, she conceives and goes about with a light burden. When it grows heavy, they both call to God, their Lord, "If You bestow on us a healthy child, we will surely be grateful," 189 And yet, as soon as He has granted them sound [offspring,] they begin to ascribe to other powers beside Him a share in bringing about what He has granted them! Sublimely exalted, however, is God - above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 190 What! they associate (with Him) that which does not create any thing, while they are themselves created! 191 No aid can they give them, nor can they aid themselves! 192 And if you invite them to guidance, they will not follow you; it is the same to you whether you invite them or you are silent. 193 Those whom you invoke other than Allah are creatures like you. So invoke them. and see if they answer your call, if what you claim is true. 194 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. 195 My guardian is Allah Who has revealed the Book, and it is He Who protects the righteous. 196 And those you call upon besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves." 197 And if ye (Muslims) call them to the guidance they hear not; and thou (Muhammad) seest them looking toward thee, but they see not. 198 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) adopt forgiveness, and enjoin virtue, and turn away from the ignorant. 199 If an evil impulse from Satan provokes you, seek refuge with God; He is all hearing, and all knowing. 200 When a satanic thought starts to bother the pious ones, they understand and see the light 201 And their brothers, they prolong them in error, and they will never stop. 202 If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith." 203 Hence, when the Qur'an is voiced, hearken unto it, and listen in silence, so that you might be graced with [God's] mercy." 204 And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful. 205 Those who are near to thy Lord, disdain not to do Him worship: They celebrate His praises, and prostrate before Him. ۩ 206
