The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
