Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
