Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
