In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
