The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
