Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
