The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
