۞ O men, it is you who stand in need of God. As for God, He is above all need, worthy of praise. 15 If He will, He can put you away and bring a new creation; 16 And with Allah that shall not be hard. 17 And a burdened soul cannot bear the burden of another and if one weighed down by burden should cry for (another to carry) its burden, not aught of it shall be carried, even though he be near of kin. You warn only those who fear their Lord in secret and keep up prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for (the good of) his own soul; and to Allah is the eventual coming. 18 The blind and the seeing are not alike, 19 And neither are darkness and brightness! 20 shade and heat are not alike, 21 nor are the living and the dead. God causes whom He will to hear Him, but you cannot make those who are in their graves hear you. 22 You are purely a Herald of Warning. 23 Surely We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good news and a warner; and there is not a people but a warner has gone among them. 24 If they belie you, those before them also belied. Their Messengers came to them with clear signs; the Psalms, and the Illuminating Book. 25 Then did I punish those who disbelieved, so how was the manifestation of My disapproval? 26
