The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For those on the right. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
