Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
