The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 And by oath of the day when it reveals it 3 And by oath of the night when it hides it 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 And by the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression, 11 when the most corrupt of them incited them (to commit evil). 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 God is not afraid of the result of what He had decreed. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
