So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
