Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them to [evil] with [constant] incitement? 83 So, do not be hasty with them. We are counting their number (of days). 84 The Day will surely come when We shall gather the God-fearing like [honoured] guests before the Compassionate God 85 and drive the evildoers into Gehenna herding, 86 having no power of intercession, save those who have taken with the All-merciful covenant. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Surely you have made a monstrous statement. 89 whereat the heavens might well-nigh be rent into fragments, and the earth be split asunder, and the mountains fall down in ruins! 90 because they have ascribed a son to the Merciful. 91 It does not befit the Most Compassionate Lord that He should take a son. 92 None there is in the heavens and the earth but must come unto the Compassionate as a bondman. 93 He has indeed counted them, and He has numbered them exactly. 94 And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). 95 On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love. 96 We have made it easy in your own tongue in order that you proclaim the glad tidings to the cautious and give warning to a stubborn nation. 97 How many generations We have destroyed before them! Can you find a single one of them alive now, or hear so much as a whisper from them? 98
