And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness; 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 and they will not even be able to make a testament, nor to return to their households. 50
