Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and the partitioners, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
