The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
