The Day will surely come when We shall summon every people with their leader. Then those who are given their records in their right hands will read their records [eagerly] and shall not in the least be wronged: 71 But whoso has been blind in this world shall be blind in the world to come, even farther astray from the path. 72 AND behold, they [who have gone astray] endeavour to tempt thee away from all [the truth] with which We have inspired thee, [O Prophet,] with a view to making thee invent something else in Our name - in which case they would surely have made thee their friend! 73 And had We not kept you steadfast, possibly you might have inclined to them just a little. 74 In that case, We should have inflicted a double punishment in this life, and a double punishment after death. Then you would have found no one to help you against Us. 75 And Verily, they were about to frighten you so much as to drive you out from the land. But in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after you, except for a little while. 76 This has been Our way with the apostles whom We sent before you. You will not find any variation in Our line of action. 77
