۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And they say: are our gods better, or is he? They mention him not to thee save for disputation. Aye! they are a people contentious. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 Let not Satan hinder you (from believing in the Hour), for surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with evidences, he said: of a surety I have come unto you with wisdom, and to expound unto you some of that wherein ye differ; so fear Allah and obey me. 63 “Allah is indeed my Lord, and yours – therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.” 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
