The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). 1 Whenever they see a miracle, they turn away from it and say, "This is just a powerful magic". 2 And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time. 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 We opened the Gates of Heaven with torrential water 11 and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed. 12 And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, 13 Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How terrible was My torment and the result of (their disregard) of My warning. 16 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember! 17 The people of 'Ad too rejected the truth. How terrible was My punishment and My warning. 18 We loosed against them a wind clamorous in a day of ill fortune continuous, 19 Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted. 20 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22
