Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
