Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
