The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 who guard their privates, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
