Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
