Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
