[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 "And make him share my task: 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 and remember you often. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
