The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see? 3 And the Prophet said, “My Lord knows all that is spoken in the heavens and in the earth; and He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing." 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 and neither did We endow them with bodies that could dispense with food nor were they immortal. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
