The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
