And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
