S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your, (Muhammad's), Lord, the Majestic and Munificent God? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
