The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 Verily the pious shall drink of a cup whereof the admixture is like unto camphor. 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22
