The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
