The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
