And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They said: We shall by no means cease to be its votaries till Moses return unto us. 91 Moses said to Aaron, "What prevented you, when you saw that they had gone astray, 92 That thou followedst me not? Hast thou then disobeyed my order? 93 Answered [Aaron]: "O my mother's son! Seize me not by my beard, nor by my head! Behold, I was afraid lest [on thy return] thou say, 'Thou hast caused a split among the children of Israel, and hast paid no heed to my bidding!" 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 'Begone! Your lot in this life is to cry: "untouchable!' said he (Moses). 'An appointment awaits you that you cannot fail to keep. Look at your god which you clung to indeed we will burn it and scatter its ashes upon the sea' 97 Your God is only One, Allah. There is no god, except He, alone. His knowledge encompasses all things. 98 So We relate to thee stories of what has gone before, and We have given thee a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror), 102 Mutterin among themselves: ye tarried not save ten days. 103 We know best what they say, when the fairest of them in course would say: You tarried but a day. 104
