Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
