The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
